Build usable sentences
Study the pattern, then replace the example information with details from your own situation.
Need, should, be willing to and have to
需要 / 应该 / 该 / 得 + VP；愿意 + VPPut these modal verbs before the main action to express necessity, advice, obligation or willingness. In this pattern 得 is read děi and means 'have to'.
Tone and stance adverbs
当然 / 其实 / 终于 / 才 / 就 + predicateUse these adverbs to add speaker stance such as obviousness, correction, eventual result, lateness or immediacy.
Prepositions introducing a target
为 / 向 / 关于 + targetUse these prepositions to introduce the person, matter or topic that an action is directed toward.
Prepositions for purpose or cause
为了 / 为 + purpose + VPUse 为了 or 为 to introduce the purpose or reason for an action.
Elapsed time after a completed action
event + time span + 了This quantity complement can state how much time has passed since an action or event ended.
是…的 for a speaker's view
S + 是 + evaluation / view + 的Use 是…的 to emphasize the speaker's judgment or attitude rather than only identifying past-event details.
Purpose clauses with 为了
为了 + purpose，actionPut 为了 and the intended goal before the action taken to achieve it.
