Four-character 不A不B pattern
不A不BUse paired opposite or related states after 不 to describe a balanced or intermediate condition.
Fixed perspective and change phrases
看来 / 在…看来 / 越来越 / 看起来 / 看上去 / 一般来说 / 不怎么样Use these fixed phrases to express viewpoint, appearance, generalization or gradual change.
Degree complements
adjective + 得很; adjective / verb + 极了 / 坏了Use these complements after a predicate to express a strong degree.
Expanded comparison patterns
A 比 B 更 / 还 + adjective; A 跟 B 一样; A 不比 B + adjectiveHSK 3 expands 比 comparisons and adds ways to express equality or deny an expected difference.
