Core textStory
Why this text is here: Show cross-cultural exchange through equal participation, questions and a shared task instead of one-way cultural presentation.
A Chinese school and an overseas partner school organized a week of student exchange. At first both sides prepared many presentations, but after listening to presentations one after another, students had little real opportunity to talk with each other.
On the third day, teachers mixed the students into groups and asked each group to design 'a typical student's day'. They compared classes, meals, transport and after-school activities and asked each other why. Even with different language levels, they continued with photos, maps and simple questions. Many students later felt the shared task built understanding more easily than one-way presentations.
Practical textMessage

Hello Teacher Wang, thank you and the students for this week's arrangements. My favorite part was the group task on the third day because we did not only introduce our own schools; we actually compared daily life together. My Chinese is not fast, but my group always waited for me to finish and rephrased things more simply. I hope we can continue cooperating in the future.
