个 · gè · (classifier used before a noun that has no specific classifier)

一年有十二个月。

Yì nián yǒu shí'èr ge yuè.

A year has twelve months.

我的房间里有一张桌子、两把椅子，桌子上有一个杯子。

Wǒ de fángjiān lǐ yǒu yì zhāng zhuōzi, liǎng bǎ yǐzi, zhuōzi shàng yǒu yí ge bēizi.

My room has a table and two chairs, and there is a cup on the table.

学校外有一个小饭店，在楼下。

Xuéxiào wài yǒu yí ge xiǎo fàndiàn, zài lóuxià.

Outside the school there is a small restaurant downstairs.

请给我你的电话号码，最后一个数字是零。

Qǐng gěi wǒ nǐ de diànhuà hàomǎ, zuìhòu yí ge shùzì shì líng.

Please give me your phone number; the last digit is zero.

Wǒ huì zuò fàn, jīntiān zuò wǔ ge cài.

I can cook; today I am making five dishes.
